Chardonnay (Weaver Vineyard) You'll
rarely encounter a Chardonnay with such
bright varietal character and elegance.
It's silky, with a soft core and tart
edges, and offers lemon zest, pippin apple
which also follows the bartlett pear and
vanilla nose and vibrant acidity. Unoaked
rendition "invites casual enjoyment,"
but I'd say it invites the opportunity
to experience the unmasked fruit of Chardonnay
grapes. This Chardonnay is dry, and goes
best with poultry or seafood, like lobster
or scallops. It can even go well with
a light red meat dish.

Mourvedre (Estate)
This
is a grape, often dismissed as "just
a blending varietal", that is capable
of making tremendously rich and balanced
single-varietal wines as well. Mourvèdre
as a cultivated wine variety originated
in Spain, where it is also called mataro
or monastrell. With it's earthy rusticity,
luscious black fruits, supple tannins,
and mouth-filling charm make this a favorite.
Mourvèdre pairs well with grilled
and roasted meats, mushrooms and dark
fowl such as duck.
